190 Strand

United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

Located on the south side of the famous street in London, which connects Trafalgar Square with Fleet Street, 190 Strand is situated in the cultural and economic heart of the British capital where, throughout the 19th century, thinkers and writers would come together, such as Charles Dickens, John Stuart Mill and William Makepeace Thackeray. Today the area is also known for being the hub of "Theatreland”, hosting world-class productions, and is the symbol of London’s wealthy and cosmopolitan society.

The mixed-use building development of 190 Strand includes penthouses, business areas and custom-made elegant apartments. It is the flagship project of St. Edward Homes, belonging to the properties of the Berkeley Group, which instantly became iconic of London luxury.
The development was designed by Grid Architects and stretches across six characteristic buildings in a private and prestigious area, at a stone’s throw from the River Thames, international embassies and the courts of law.
The prestige of the area has been raised by 190 Strand's restoration and development work: the choice to combine natural and handcrafted materials within the building has led to use of both stone and porcelain solutions for its sophisticated kitchens, beautiful bathrooms and elegant business and relaxation areas.
For the wonderful pool and imposing 70 sq. m stone wall in the relaxation area, the outstanding project by Stone & Ceramic placed the focus on fine mosaics and refined porcelain tiles. The same choice was made for the "arcade" and business rooms, where a variety of natural surfaces and fine porcelain was used and a five-meter long stone desk was installed.

The FILA PROJECT department worked alongside Stone & Ceramic to provide tailor-made and high-quality solutions for the initial cleaning and routine maintenance of the design surfaces, featuring the monumental stone wall in the spa.
For the 190 Strand development, FILAPROJECT has identified specific solutions for the various materials and spaces in which they are placed, including the DETERDEK PRO acid descaler, which removes scale without releasing environmentally hazardous fumes, PS87 PRO, the excellent wax removing degreaser for basic cleaning of natural stone and ceramics, and the concentrated neutral detergent CLEANER PRO. The stain remover SR95, specifically for the effective removal of colored organic stains on natural stone, and the water-based gel cleaner for stone NOPAINT STAR were also used.
