Presidential Palace

Fila’s surface regimen has been chosen for the new Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates. Situated in a 150-hectare plot on the Ras al Akhdar peninsula, the new Palace will house the offices of H.H. The President, H.H. The Vice President, H.H. The Crown Prince, Ministers and visiting dignitaries. The highly prestigious landmark project is estimated to take three years. It will include the treatment of a 450,000 m² vertical area of pale beige Chauvigny Turkish limestone. All stone is being supplied by Mosart Marble (Abu Dhabi).
Prior to the product selection, both the material’s natural characteristics and the location’s weather and climate conditions were examined. A treatment system was outlined, using DETERDEK Grout Haze Remover, HYDROREP Water Repellent Sealer and FILAFOB Porous Stone Sealer. Fila’s technical and training teams worked closely with Mosart Marble to establish the specific treatment line.
Due to the absorbent nature of limestone, all materials will be deep-cleaned with diluted DETERDEK. HYDROREP will then be applied to the stone. The lower cladding material will receive another application of FILAFOB to provide stain protection, and an additional coat will be applied on-site, to areas exposed to weathering.
