To block contaminants from rising through the back and 4 sides of the material:Thoroughly clean the back and sides of the tile or slab, removing dust and residue. Make sure the surface is dry and without humidity. Apply an even coat of the product to a dry surface using a large, flat paintbrush or airless sprayer. Do not let the product pool on the surface.Position the tile or slab so that the 4 sides and back can dry completely. Install the material when the product is completely dry. Drying time varies indicatively from 12 hours in temperatures between 68ºF and 104ºF (20ºC and 40ºC) to 24 hours in temperatures between 50ºF and 68ºF (10ºC and 20ºC).Choose an adhesive that is suitable to the type of installation, according to technical standards. After the initial cleaning, treatment can be completed with the water based or solvent based sealer most suitable to the use of the surface.6-SIDE PROTECTIONIn situations with high humidity, to block contaminants rising from the back and sides of the material and to minimize water absorption on the top of the tile: Clean all 6 sides of the tile or slab, eliminating any dust or residue and making sure that the surface is dry and without humidity. Application can also be carried out by immersing the material in the product for about 30 seconds. Product residue must be removed by blotting the surface with a cloth, making sure that the product does not pool on the surface. Choose adhesive that is suitable to the type of installation according to technical standards.After the initial cleaning, the surface treatment can be completed with a solvent based sealer most suitable to the use of the surface.POST-INSTALLATION APPLICATION – SURFACE PROTECTIONTo minimize water absorption on the top of the tile or slab: On a clean and dry surface apply the product until the surface is saturated with a large, flat paintbrush or airless sprayer. Product residue must be removed by blotting the surface with a cloth.The surface dries in only 6 hours. Application with an airless sprayer can only be carried out by professionals equipped with appropriate PPE, as described on the safety data sheet.Do not apply the product on the top surface of polished surfaces. On polished surfaces, pay particular attention during the application process to avoid dripping the product on the front of the tile or slab and staining the surface.Verify with the manufacturer the most suitable adhesive for the use of the material. On materials that have mesh or resin on the back, PW10 should only be applied to the sides or top surface of the material.The product does not affect the bonding properties of the adhesive (regulation UNI EN 1348-2009 and ASTM C 482-02). Advice from the experts: For correct post-installation cleaning, we recommend washing the surface with a specific cleaner according to the characteristics of the material.Use DETERDEK for terracotta and STONECLEAN for stone surfaces. For regular maintenance, use STONECLEAN for stone surfaces and CLEANALL for terracotta. For heavy duty cleaning use PS87. All cleaners should be used at the correct dilution indicated on the Technical Data Sheets.
