22 Bishopsgate

A commercial skyscraper in London, 22 Bishopsgate is the largest office building ever built in Britain . Standing at an impressive 278 m in height, with 62 storeys, it's the city's second-largest skyscraper after The Shard. The project, which occupies a prominent site in the capital's financial district, offers 1,275 million sq ft of high-specification office space. It's also the first building in Britain to apply for the WELL building standard and has been awarded a BREEAM Excellent sustainability rating .

Since its completion in December 2020, this remarkable build has been 60% let to 14 different businesses. Occupiers benefit from a large range of amenities across 150,000 sq ft, including a 20,000 sq ft food hub called 'The Market' across the second floor. Other facilities include a well-being retreat, gym and destination restaurant, as well as London's highest free public viewing gallery and curated 'art walk'. In addition, this 'Vertical Village' has 1699 spaces for bikes, electric charging points and changing rooms.

Built to the highest sustainability standards , 22 Bishopsgate will enhance the well-being of the building's occupiers long term. Triple glazed windows also reduce acoustics and boost natural sunlight by a massive 60%. Additionally, this project is infused with organic touches like stone , particularly across levels 51 to 54, where EP Ceramics installed Honed Bianco Lasa Classico tiles. As the marble was machined by Italian stone suppliers Campolonghi , the contractor enlisted the help of a specialist before treating all 2,100 square meters.

At FILA, we worked with EP Ceramics, providing on-site training and guidance to enhance the flooring across all four levels. Having trialled MP90 ECO XTREME , this water-based sealer was found to offer superb protection for the marble floors. Reducing absorption without affecting the material's natural look, MP90 ECO XTREME will hamper the absorption of common watery and oily stains . Being water-based, it's also free of hydrocarbon solvents, eco-friendly, and will contribute to the building's sustainability rating .
