Rooted in a long-standing partnership spanning more than two decades between FILA Solutions and MIPA, this project brings new life to the encaustic cement tile flooring in the Municipality of Medole (Mantua). Designed by Archiplan Studio (architect Diego Cisi) and completed in April 2026, the work stands as a benchmark of excellence where technical precision meets architectural elegance—delivering ultra-durable public surfaces engineered to stand the test of time.
The Project and Technological Synergy
The success of the intervention lies in an integrated supply chain and a strategic partnership between surface specialist MIPA and FILA Solutions, with MIPA officially endorsing FILA as its sole partner for cleaning and maintenance systems.
For this project, protection started at the manufacturing stage: the cement tiles underwent in-line industrial pre-treatment with FILA 576. Acting deep within the substrate, this protective barrier repels dirt and dampness and blocks cementitious binders from migrating into the pores during installation. This approach guaranteed seamless, risk-free on-site operations and a remarkably swift, thorough post-construction cleanup.
On-Site Application Steps
To complete the treatment protocol on-site in Medole and fully enhance the material qualities of the surfaces, the following key steps were executed:
- Post-Installation Clean (Deep Cleaning): CLEANER PRO was used to remove sanding residues and construction dirt. The cleaner delivered a deep, thorough cleanse while remaining completely gentle on the material, perfectly prepping the surface for the subsequent protective phase.
- High-Performance Stain Protection: Once the surface was completely clean and dry, FOB XTREME stain repellent was applied. The product delivered deep-acting defense against both oil- and water-based substances, fully complying with MIPA's technical specifications while keeping the material's original look and character entirely unaltered.
- Ongoing Care and Long-Term Maintenance: To preserve the treatment's water- and oil-repellent performance over the years, the regular use of CLEANER PRO is recommended. Used as a neutral cleaner for routine cleaning, it leaves no waxy residue, prevents surfaces from dulling, and keeps the protective FOB XTREME barrier fully intact.
